Precautions for material selection of FPC board

Due to the different structures and materials of rigid board and flexible board, there are obvious differences in the size expansion and contraction between them. Therefore, the selection of appropriate materials is very important, and the main purpose is to ensure good alignment.

Rigid part: the size of rigid board shrinkage is not large, and there is no clear requirement for the selection of materials.

Material selection for flexible part: select the material and covering film with small size expansion and contraction, generally consider the material made of harder PI, or directly use the non-adhesive material for production.

Adhesive material selection: the general choice of pure film or non-flowing PP pressing, pure film should not use acrylic rubber system, because of its growth and shrinkage and poor heat resistance.

At present, there are three kinds of adhesive materials for rigid and flexible board, which are pure adhesive film, non-flowing PP and non-flowing RCC.

Non-flowing PP currently only epoxy rubber products, in the use of pure film and there are great differences. Non-flowing RCC provide both a adhesive layer and an outer copper foil, making them more suitable for HDI board.
