The function of back drilling

The function of back drilling is to drill out the PCB through hole segment that does not play any connection or transmission role, so as to avoid the reflection, scattering and delay of high-speed signal transmission, which will bring "distortion" to the signal. The research shows that the main factors affecting the signal integrity of the signal system are design, PCB materials, transmission lines, connectors, chip packaging and other factors, and the through hole has a greater impact on the signal integrity.

Advantages:

1. Reduce noise interference;

2. The local plate thickness becomes smaller;

3. Improve signal integrity;

4. Reduce the use of buried blind holes and reduce the difficulty of PCB production.

Processing capacity

①The minimum safety distance between A back hole and circuit is 0.12mm.

②B Back hole drill bit is larger than through hole drill bit by ≥ 0.2mm.

③C Minimum hole ring 0.075mm; To ensure that there is no residual copper at the orifice, back drilling requires B>C.

④Back drilling bit 0.4~6.2mm, drill point angle 165°.

⑤Dielectric thickness of control depth layer ≥ 0.1mm, residual insulation ≥ 0.1mm.
