About Flying Probe Tester

The flying probe testing, also known as probe bed testing, is a crucial testing process in the electronic manufacturing process. Its main purpose is to verify whether the electronic components, circuits and connecting wires on the printed circuit board are normal, and to troubleshoot possible problems such as abnormal connection, short circuit, open circuit, etc.

Principle

The flying probe testing uses a probe bed testing instrument, which checks the electrical connectivity between various points on the printed circuit board by contacting a set of probe beds with the wiring and impedance components on the printed circuit board. During testing, it is usually necessary to measure basic electrical properties such as DC resistance, AC resistance, capacitance, inductance, and other specific component parameters separately.

Method

The flying probe testing of pcb needs to be conducted on a firmly fixed circuit board. Firstly, testers need to choose appropriate testing tools, methods, and sequences. Then, according to the specified test process, contact the probe bed with each test point on the printed circuit board in the specified order for specific testing and recording. After testing, determine whether the pcb meets the requirements based on the test results.

Application

The flying probe testing is usually conducted at different stages of the printed circuit board manufacturing process, including quality control stages before, during, and after production. Through this testing process, problems on the printed circuit board can be effectively identified, ensuring the quality and reliability of the printed circuit board, thereby improving the efficiency and accuracy of the entire manufacturing process. The flying probe testing is widely used in the electronic manufacturing industry and is an essential testing method.

Sihui Fuji has implemented strict quality control in the flying probe testing process.

1.Check the accuracy of the flying probe testing equipment: Before each operation of the flying probe testing equipment, technicians must check the accuracy of the equipment to ensure the reliability of the test results.

2. Strictly implement testing standards.Sihui Fuji follows industry IPC standards, which specify detailed requirements for pcb flying probe testing and conduct comprehensive inspections of printed circuit board connectivity, short circuits, open circuits, etc.

3. Record test results. After each flying probe test, technical personnel must record the test results, including the defects and problems of the board, and classify and analyze these problems.

4.Timely adjustment of production process. After conducting flying probe testing, Sihui Fuji will evaluate the test results and continuously adjust the production process based on the type and quantity of problems to ensure the quality of the printed circuit board.

E-test is an important step before the product is shipped. Strengthening the testing of the substrate's electrical performance to ensure that the products shipped to customers are of good quality and do not cause trouble for customers. Realizing customer needs is our unwavering pursuit.

The flying probe testing is an extremely important testing process in electronic manufacturing, which can timely and accurately detect problems on the pcb, avoiding some operational errors and production losses. With the continuous development of electronic manufacturing technology, this testing method has also been continuously improved, which will further promote the innovation and development of the electronic industry in the future.
