Drilling process

The drilling is a very important process in printed circuit board manufacturing. It is an indispensable part of the process of manufacturing printed circuit boards (PCBs). The main task of the pcb drilling process is to drill or excavate slots on the board to connect electronic components, wires, or signal jumpers to various parts of the printed circuit board.

The pcb drilling process usually requires the use of high-speed drills and specialized drilling machines. These drill bits usually use tungsten carbide alloy materials to improve their service life and stability. Due to the different thicknesses and hardness of printed circuit boards, it is necessary to choose different drill bits and drill bit sizes to match the requirements of each hole. Different drill bits have different characteristics. When selecting a drill bit, it is necessary to consider the toughness, wear resistance, blade angle, number of blades, and other aspects of the drill bit. At the same time, during the drilling process, it is also necessary to pay attention to factors such as controlling the pressure, selecting the feed rate and speed reasonably.

Before drilling, strict wiring and design of the printed circuit board are required. This can ensure that the accuracy, size, and depth of the hole position are completely consistent with the requirements of the printed circuit board design. In addition, to ensure that each hole on the board is properly placed, a vacuum nozzle is also needed to maintain the flatness of the pcb.

The drilling process is a very complex process that requires a high level of skills and experience. When drilling, attention must be paid to avoiding problems such as incomplete or irregular holes caused by machine vibration and excessive speed. In addition, measures should be taken to prevent dust and static electricity to avoid damage to printed circuit boards and other electronic components caused by metal debris and static electricity.

Process:

1. Material preparation: Prepare the substrate for drilling.

2. Drilling: Place the substrate on the drilling machine and complete automated drilling through program control of the drilling machine.

3. Inspection: Conduct a visual inspection of the drilled holes to check for any defects.

4. Cleaning: Clean the drilled substrate to remove any cutting debris generated during drilling.
